About us
A secure environment for the first days of life
Averroès Clinic Marrakech operates a neonatology unit within its Mother & Child Center, dedicated to welcoming and monitoring newborns from birth.
Equipped with incubators and dedicated technical facilities, the unit provides immediate care in the delivery room as well as close monitoring for newborns requiring special observation, working hand in hand with the obstetrics and anesthesia-intensive care teams.
Depending on the newborn’s health status, this setup ensures a safe welcome at birth, appropriate monitoring in cases of prematurity or low birth weight, and close support for families during this sensitive period.

Delivery Room Care
Every birth is attended by a team trained in newborn care, providing initial procedures and clinical assessment.

Newborns requiring special attention receive close monitoring, in an incubator if needed, until stabilized.
Neonatal Jaundice Care
Newborn jaundice is monitored and, when clinically indicated, treated with phototherapy.
Postnatal Support
A dedicated team supports mothers with the newborn's first care, breastfeeding, and a gradual return home, all in an atmosphere of trust and reassurance.

Assessment at Birth
A complete clinical examination is performed within the first minutes of life to confirm the newborn's healthy adaptation outside the womb.
Tailored Monitoring
Depending on identified needs, the newborn is monitored either in the room with the mother or under closer observation within the neonatology unit.
Multidisciplinary Coordination
Pediatricians, midwives, obstetricians and anesthesiologists-intensivists coordinate care to ensure the safety of both mother and child.
Discharge Support and Follow-up
Before discharge, parents receive all the information they need on newborn care. Pediatric follow-up is then offered.
